Douglas Crawford, AIA serves as an Assistant Professor and Graduate Advisor of the Master of Arts Program within the Interior Architecture Program at George Washington University where he teaches courses on design and digital media. Throughout his career, Douglas has focused his professional and academic interests on Building Information Modeling [BIM]. He has implemented BIM within all of his professional projects, reaching project scales in excess of two million square feet. He has successfully integrated BIM-based virtual reality into his design process in order to achieve greater coordination across linked design discipline models. In 2020 Douglas was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award by the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation for his role in helping the school transition to online learning at the onset of the pandemic.
